Karen Kimmins is best known for her newborn and baby photography.

Hello, I'm Karen Kimmins and I'm a specialist newborn portrait photographer located in Wellington, Somerset.

I'm a mother to four beautiful daughters, 23,20,16 and 6 years old and nan to an adorable 1 year old granddaughter. I love looking back at photos of my children when they were small, the time has passed so quickly. Two have flown the nest, so my husband is a little less outnumbered now (at least we have two male cats!)
I have always loved photography, always taking snaps of my family and drooling over other photographers work. It wasn't until after the birth of my fourth daughter that my passion for photography really took hold and the compulsive learning began. It was in 2014 that I began my journey in newborn photography.

I am mostly self-taught, but I have had one-to-one training with a leading, international multi award-winning newborn photographer, learning all about safely posing and the art of newborn photography. I have also attended several day courses in general photography and I've lost count of how many online courses I have completed in all aspects of newborn photography, lighting and photoshop.

From the first newborn session I did, I was totally hooked. I am absolutely passionate about photographing babies and gorgeous blooming mums to be, to create beautiful pieces of art to be treasured for generations to come.

The birth of a child marks a defining moment in your life. The newborn stage passes so quickly and in just a few weeks your tiny little one will no longer fit so snuggly in your arms. They are only this small for such a short time. I remember only too well how quickly those first few weeks pass by, often in a blur from recovering from birth, sleepless nights and endless visitors. I believe it's so important to have these photographs.

So put a little time aside, let me help you preserve those memories for you and your family to cherish forever.

I hope that you enjoy looking at my images as much as I have in creating them, and please get in touch if I can help you with your newborn baby photographs any further.
