Hi! I'm Karen Voller (formerly Kimmins) and I am a multi award winning baby photographer, specialising in newborn and maternity portraits, located in Wellington, Somerset.

First and foremost, I’m a mum to four beautiful daughters,30, 26, 22 and 12 years old, they have the most beautiful and caring souls and they are without doubt my proudest achievements. They are my everything. I’m also a proud nanny to two adorable granddaughters. A lot of girls! I’m also step-mum to 4 more children so family get-togethers are crazy but oh so wonderful!

I am a ‘Qualified Professional’ member of the ‘Guild of Photographers’ which is a highly regarded national photographic body whose members are committed to achieving the highest standards of professionalism for the benefit of their customers. 

Becoming ‘Qualified’ with the Guild involved a rigorous assessment process, and I’m now one of only around 350 people in the Country to hold this recognition!

Photography is one of my biggest passions in life after my girls, I don’t really care about all of the technical stuff though, if you want to talk to me about all of that, I’m definitely not your girl! What I really care about is what photography does, that’s what captivates me. 

Photographs create a legacy. They remind us of what was, freezing fleeting moments in time that will never be again. They give us something tangible to hold onto our memories with.

I just adore portraits, especially those showing human connection. It’s probably why I love the parent shots with their precious new baby the most. I also love the creative side of photography, I’m definitely more right-brained and love to get creative at any chance.

I always had a big interest in photography, I was always the girl with the camera or disposable everywhere we went. It was in 2014 that I began my journey in newborn photography.  From the first newborn session I did, I was totally hooked. I think being a mother myself and remembering how the birth of your child is such a huge defining moment in your life that made it so special for me.  The newborn stage passes so quickly and in just a few weeks your tiny little one no longer fits so snuggly in your arms. They are only this small for such a short time. I remember only too well how quickly those first few weeks fly by, often in a blur from recovering from birth, sleepless nights and endless visitors. It’s why I believe it's so important to have these photographs.

I am mostly self-taught, but I have had 2 lots of one-to-one full training days with 2 leading, international multi award-winning newborn photographers, learning all about safely posing, lighting and the art of newborn photography. I have also attended several day courses in general photography and I've lost count of how many online courses I have completed in all aspects of newborn photography, lighting and photoshop. This I continue to update regularly. My learning and growing in photography never stops.

I am absolutely passionate about photographing babies and creating beautiful pieces of art to be treasured for generations to come.

Converse high tops and Dr Martens. Junk shops and charity shop finds. Summer. Sparkly stuff.

So that just about sums me up! I would absolutely love to meet you and be your baby's first photographer, so put a little time aside and let me help you preserve this truly special time for you and your family to cherish forever.
